Additional closing days until July due to payment card

The conversion of asylum seeker benefits to the payment card should be completed by the end of July 2026. The Asylum Benefits division of the Ludwigsburg District Office has processed around 900 cases so far, which is around half of all conversions. In order to complete the introduction quickly, the issuing days for the payment cards will be significantly extended. This will involve additional closing days for the parts of the office where employees issue the cards to benefit recipients.

Additional closing days

The Asylum Services business units will be closed on the following days:

In May: Tuesday, 12.05. and 19.05.

In June: Tuesday, 09.06., 16.06., 23.06. and 30.06.

In July: Tuesday, 07.07., 14.07., 21.07. and 28.07.

In addition, ticket sales are expected to take place on four further customer-free days in May and on six additional customer-free days in June and July.

Proven procedure remains in place

The changeover will follow a set procedure: First, the responsible employees create the cases in the system. The people affected are then informed in writing and invited to fixed appointments. The payment cards are issued on site and registered and activated together with the recipients with the support of the social services and benefits department. This structured procedure has proven its worth and ensures that queries and problems are kept to a minimum afterwards.

According to current plans, the last payment cards will be issued by July 28, 2026.
