Lecture on March 18, 2026 in the Kreishaus on International Women's Day - Out of the spiral of violence

On the occasion of International Women's Day, the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Ludwigsburg district invites you to a special event: On March 18, 2026, Kristina Wolff, professor, book author and founder of the Femicide Observation Center Germany (F.O.C.G.), will speak from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Ludwigsburg District Hall on the topic: "Violence against women and femicides - A hand slipped once or a recurring pattern?" Participation is free of charge, registration is required by March 16, 2026.

The figures are alarming: with an increase of more than 30 percent from 2023 to 2024, the trend of previous years is also continuing in the city and district of Ludwigsburg: the number of criminal offenses of domestic violence is rising steadily and over the years - too many of these acts end fatally in femicide.

Guests can expect a combination of lecture and reading

In October 2025, Professor Dr. Wolff published her book "WIE VIELE NOCH? Germany's approved femicides". In it, she sheds light on the underlying mechanisms of violence from a wide variety of perspectives.

In a combination of lecture and reading, she reveals the connections, structures and effects of violence that have been developed over six years of research and explains solutions that are already established in other countries. Her conclusion: everyone has a role to play in effectively countering the increasing spiral of violence - a lively exchange on the ground is welcome.

Please register via gleichstellungsbeauftragte[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de (stating your full name) by 16.03.2026. Participation is free of charge. The event is organized by the Equal Opportunities Officer of the Ludwigsburg district. Information also available at www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de/gleichstellung in the "News" section.
