The construction work will extend over several construction phases and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The aim is to permanently optimize traffic conditions, especially for the access and exit to Gemmrigheim.
From June 30 to July 30: traffic routing in the first construction phase
In the first construction phase until the summer vacations, the junction will remain single-lane and will be controlled by traffic lights. The direct access road to and from Gemmrigheim will be fully closed during this time. Access to the Blatt concrete plant and the Gemmrigheim sewage treatment plant will remain open. The exit from there will be diverted via the vineyards and the adjacent residential area.
During the summer vacations, the junction will be fully closed during the second construction phase. Access to and from the Blatt concrete plant and the sewage treatment plant will then be exclusively via the residential area and the vineyards. After the end of the summer vacation, it will be possible to drive through the junction again in one lane with traffic lights.
Affected roads and detour
The measure affects the K 1623, K 1625 and the access roads to the sewage treatment plant and the concrete plant. A large-scale detour will be signposted: From the direction of Ottmarsheim, the detour will be via the L 1115 to Besigheim (Neusatz) and then via the K 1623 to Gemmrigheim. From the direction of Kirchheim, traffic will be routed via the B 27, the Neckar bridge in Besigheim, the L 1115 (Neusatz) and also the K 1623.
Bus routes 573 and 574 are affected by the construction work. Passengers are asked to inform themselves in good time about detour, cancellations and possible bus stop relocations.
Costs and significance of the conversion
The construction costs amount to around 1.5 million euros. With the new traffic circle, the temporary traffic lights will no longer be needed, the efficiency of the junction will be improved and the construction method will be permanently designed to cope with the traffic load - especially heavy goods traffic.
The district administration office asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the necessary restrictions and traffic obstructions during the construction period.
