Sculpture with memorial plaque erected in Walheim

16 years after the death of the Hungarian artist Milhály Gubis, the sculpture "Woman with four breasts", which was the cause of the tragic accident, was erected in Walheim together with a memorial plaque.

A tall, abstract sculpture of a woman stands in a grassy area. The sculpture features exaggerated, rounded shapes, including a prominent torso and head. Surrounding vegetation includes trees in the background, contributing to the natural setting.

As part of the "Neckarkunst II" symposium in 2006, sculptures were created by regional and international artists. The special artworks "World Chair" by Milhály Gubis and "Woman with Four Breasts" by the Chinese sculptor Chen Debao were created.

A tragic accident occurred in May 2006. During loading, the 1.5-ton sandstone statue "Woman with Four Breasts" toppled over and buried Milhály Gubis underneath it. The statue had been placed at the PKC Educational and Cultural Center ever since.

Together with the municipality of Walheim, the district has now found a new, very suitable location: The statue has been moved to the last work of art "Weltenstuhl" by the late artist Milhály Gubis, which has been greeting visitors to the Neckar community at the entrance to Walheim from the B27 since 2006. A commemorative plaque establishes a link between the two works of art and creates an appropriate reminder.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier states: "In this way, we can help to ensure that the tragic incident over 16 years ago is not forgotten."
