The jury, consisting of Annika Urhahn (Ludwigsburg Zero), Albrecht Lang (District Master Craftsman), Thomas Eckstein (Climate Protection Manager Vaihingen an der Enz) and Johanna Fuoß (Energieagentur Kreis Ludwigsburg LEA e.V.), decided in favor of the trainee team from the city of Ludwigsburg this year.
"The project promises a lasting effect of commitment"
"The winning project particularly impressed us with its inclusive design. With refugees, a target group was addressed that is otherwise very difficult to reach. The fact that the project is to be continued by the city at future language cafés promises a lasting effect from the trainees' commitment," said Annika Urhahn, explaining the jury's choice.
The winning team can look forward to an exclusive movie screening for 40 people including snacks at the Ludwigsburg cinema "Luna". In addition, the challenge cup was passed on to the winning team from last year's winning municipality of Remseck.
Head of Department Andreas Eschbach, who opened the event and presented the prize, praised and motivated all the trainees: "I was impressed by the creativity behind your diverse ideas. 'Climate protection is our mission' - this is the motto under which we at the district administration office are facing up to the challenges of climate change. I would like to thank you for making climate protection your mission - take this motivation with you into your job, into your everyday lives. Keep at it, keep going, because each and every one of you can make a difference!"
Fourth edition of the "Municipal Climate Scouts" project
The "Municipal climate scouts - trainees for more climate protection" project trains the next generation of municipal employees for climate protection in the workplace. The workshop program, which was offered for the fourth time by the Ludwigsburg district office in cooperation with the Energieagentur Kreis Ludwigsburg (LEA) e.V., teaches the topics of climate change and municipal climate protection as well as the basics of project management and communication.
Voluntary trainee teams from seven district municipalities, the AVL and the Ludwigsburg District Office took part. The administration trainees developed their own climate protection projects at their workplace as part of the training. This firmly anchors the idea of climate protection in the trainees' professional lives and makes an important contribution on the road to climate-neutral local government.
