The world of business is changing rapidly. The structurally well-positioned district of Ludwigsburg is also affected by this. Increasing electromobility and the growth of alternative drive models in the vehicle sector, the digitalization of work processes and the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic are shaking up entrepreneurial fields of activity and employment relationships. This is where the district's business promoter comes in: The aim is to establish networks and develop a strategy for the future direction of the economy in the district together with the relevant stakeholders. This also includes initiating innovative projects that help to make the district economically fit for the future. "We don't want to stand idly by and watch this change, we want to actively support and shape it. We have found the ideal person for this in Oliver Reichert," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, who welcomed Reichert on March 1.
How can the district use its strong focus on the automotive sector and the transformation of the automotive industry to its advantage? How can the cities and municipalities innovatively address the growing tension between space requirements, population development and a shortage of skilled workers? Which consulting and support programs are suitable for small and medium-sized companies to become more future-proof? The new business development manager is no stranger to questions like these. Oliver Reichert was previously Project Manager for Mechanical Engineering and Head of the Industrial Services Initiative at the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation, for example. The district administrator sees great potential for the entire district in the new position. "Our motto is not to wait and see, but to take action and seize opportunities," summarizes Allgaier.
"The district economic development officer will support the district's economy in mastering the many challenges it faces: Digitalization, new drive systems for cars, availability of skilled workers, shortage of space, transport infrastructure and, last but not least, the pandemic and the climate crisis," says WRS Managing Director Dr. Walter Rogg. "As a regional economic development agency, we are delighted that the district, local authorities and key companies have made it possible to establish this position."
