Anyone who pedals receives a bicycle kilometer allowance
When it comes to certification, the bicycle club also attaches importance to the fact that, in addition to subsidies for public transport, there are also benefits for those who commute by bike. Since January 2023, the Ludwigsburg district office has been offering a bicycle kilometer allowance. If they cycle to work, employees of the Ludwigsburg District Office can receive 30 cents per kilometer for the one-way trip (max. 80 euros per month).
Bicycle-friendly employers are winners
For the ADFC, bicycle-friendly employers have many advantages, as they save resources and use their finances wisely. After all, it is cheaper and saves more space to park a bicycle than a car. "Getting employees on bikes benefits them in several ways. Regular exercise has been proven to improve health and increase motivation," explains Husung. For him, employers who systematically promote cycling and have themselves certified are winners: "If more people cycle to work and use their own bikes or pedelecs provided by the employer for business trips, this prevents a lack of exercise. People who cycle regularly have on average a third fewer sick days - and a lower risk of infection."
The district administration's goal: climate-neutral by 2035
The Ludwigsburg district administration's bicycle-friendly measures are an essential part of sustainable mobility management. They contribute to the goal of making the district administration climate-neutral by 2035. After all, employee mobility is also part of theCO2 balance.
The ADFC has been awarding the EU-wide "Bicycle-friendly employer" certification since 2017. Further information can be found at www.fahrradfreundlicher-arbeitgeber.de.
