District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier supports Tamm's town elevation application

The municipality of Tamm would like to become a town. Mayor Martin Bernhard therefore recently submitted the application to become a town to District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. The district administrator forwarded the application with a letter of support to Thomas Strobl, the Minister of the Interior, Digitization and Municipalities. Allgaier's accompanying letter states: "Tamm is the largest municipality in the district of Ludwigsburg and the third largest in the administrative district of Stuttgart and, as district administrator, I support the municipality of Tamm on its way to becoming a town and hope for your help. I would be delighted if your ministry would consider Tamm's application favorably."

According to the head of the district administration, the municipality of Tamm has "an urban character" and is "perceived as a town by outsiders, but also by residents". It was therefore justified to be elevated to the status of a town. Allgaier explains that the municipality "has created the best conditions for its citizens" with the town center and the new town center, the excellent transport connections via the B27 and A81 as well as the S-Bahn connection and the contiguous settlement area. The municipality is also experiencing increasing population growth due to the numerous building areas and the well-developed social infrastructure. In addition, the 41-hectare industrial and commercial area offers attractive opportunities for companies to relocate. Tamm's economy is stable, so that the expansion of the "Laiern" industrial estate is already included in the Stuttgart region's plan.

District Administrator Allgaier pointed out that the municipality's other plans were also forward-looking. For example, a recreational area in the form of a community park is to be created in the village as a necessary counterbalance to the heavy local development. "This can further promote Tamm's public life," concluded the district administrator.

Tamm has more than 12,700 inhabitants and a municipal area of around 8.8 square kilometers.
