Nature Conservation and Management in Harmony
Modern management of orchard meadows is geared toward the needs of the trees while also taking nature conservation into account. Proper maintenance practices—such as regular pruning, caring for young trees, promoting beneficial insects, and maintaining a diverse selection of varieties—contribute to the preservation of the orchard meadow. Equally important are providing the trees with nutrients as needed and maintaining soil fertility through humus formation.
Soil analyses provide insights into the condition of the soil
The basic nutrient analysis provides information on soil type, pH level, and phosphate, potassium, and magnesium content. Participants are responsible for the cost of the basic nutrient analysis, which is 16.50 euros per sample. To learn more about the condition of the soil, the advisory service will also commission a determination of the humus content for each sample. The advisory service will cover the costs for this (up to two samples per participant). The growers will receive the results of the analyses directly from the laboratory.
