Jubilee cycle path opened for the Ludwigsburg district - District Administrator: A unique cycle path to explore the beauty of the district

The new anniversary cycle path along the county border was opened on Saturday (April 13) in the atrium of the first county hall extension. "This unique cycle path offers cyclists the opportunity to explore the beauty of the district on a specially designated route. The opening of the anniversary cycle path marks the end of our celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the Ludwigsburg district in its current form," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.

A group of eleven people stands together outdoors, holding bicycles and a red ribbon. They appear to be celebrating a cycling initiative or project, with one person preparing to cut the ribbon. A map is visible in the background, emphasizing the theme of cycling.

Cutting the ribbon (from left): Carsten Willing, Mayor of Eberdingen, District Councillor Peter Schimke, Holger Albrich, Mayor of Sachsenheim and District Councillor, Michael Wolf, Mayor of Bietigheim-Bissingen, District Councillor Brigitte Muras, District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, Steffen Döttinger, Mayor of Affalterbach, Jo Triller, First Mayor of Remseck, Thomas Winterhalter, Mayor of Steinheim, and District Councillor Rainer Gessler.

The cycle path was actually designed for the 50th anniversary of the district last year. The route is based on the district border and thus covers an impressive 162 kilometers. The varied tour leads through 21 of the 39 district municipalities and offers an unforgettable journey through "breathtaking" and very diverse landscapes.

District Administrator Allgaier symbolically cuts the ribbon to open the new cycle path

As part of the ceremony, District Administrator Allgaier symbolically cut the ribbon and opened the new tourist cycle path to all cyclists. In the run-up to the celebrations, the first ride along a section of the cycle path had already taken place, which the Ludwigsburg District Office had initiated together with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Clubs (ADFC). More than 30 cyclists explored the new route along the district border together and enjoyed the scenic beauty and fresh air on their bikes.

New route suggestions and particularly active cyclists welcome

The anniversary cycle route is now open to everyone and invites residents and guests alike to explore the district on two wheels. In addition, all cyclists are encouraged to discover and create new route suggestions on the anniversary cycle path. Every eight weeks, participants will be entered into a prize draw to win a small thank-you gift for submitting a new route. In addition, all those who pedal particularly actively and demonstrably complete the entire 162-kilometer route along the anniversary cycle path can expect a small reward.
