Year-end event of the district fire brigade association in Schwieberdingen

Dr. Rainer Haas was a guest for the last time as District Administrator at the end-of-year event of the district fire brigade association on Friday evening (8 November) in Schwieberdingen. In his welcoming address, the District Administrator focused on his "heartfelt thanks to the fire departments for their exemplary commitment to voluntary work and the excellent cooperation during my 24 years in office".

The head of the district administration described the most important future tasks of the fire department as ensuring the daily availability of the fire department, the expansion of inter-municipal cooperation, the sustainable support of the municipalities by the district in district-wide deployment planning and the noticeable strengthening of volunteering by the public sector.

The head of the district administration emphasized that the average arrival time of the first fire engine in the district is just 8.4 minutes. "This is an excellent result and shows that we have very effective fire departments in the district of Ludwigsburg," Haas stated. However, the fire departments in the district are not only fast, but also effective: one of the reasons for this is that the number of major fires in the district is very low compared to the rest of the country.

In his welcome address, District Administrator Haas also referred to successfully completed projects: The introduction of the Integrated Control Centre (ILS) as a gGmbH is attracting nationwide attention; the reorganization of district training is a significant contribution by the district office to supporting volunteers; the district's civil protection staff have been completely re-equipped; two motorcycles have been procured for reconnaissance in large-scale emergency situations and the social media group, which is intended to support the incident command, the civil protection staff and the municipalities in special emergency situations, has been launched. Other projects that the district is currently working on include the swap body concept, the procurement of the "measurement technology" equipment vehicle and the introduction of standardized digital radio throughout the district.
