Delicious Food, Nature, and Fine Wines: The 29th Spätlingsmarkt Officially Opens

The 29th Ludwigsburg District Fall Market kicked off on Monday with an opening ceremony led by District Administrator Dietmar Allagier. Through Saturday, November 7, the market at the District Administration Building invites visitors to discover regional specialties, wines, and international delicacies. New booths and a varied program of events invite visitors to rediscover familiar favorites and try something new.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier (center) opened the Spätlingsmarkt on Monday evening. To the right of the district administrator is Württemberg’s Wine Princess, Manuela Breitmayer.

“To enjoy means finding something special in the everyday,” the district administrator quoted publisher and editor Wolfgang Schuch as saying in his opening remarks. This idea sums up what the Spätlingsmarkt is all about: “Sometimes it doesn’t take much to experience something special: a good wine, a regional specialty, a handcrafted item made with love—or an interesting conversation with someone who is passionate about their product.”

A Meeting Place for the Region and Its Partners

The Spätlingsmarkt has long been an integral part of the district’s calendar of events. Since its debut in 1997 with seven booths, the Spätlingsmarkt has evolved into a popular gathering place. This year, 75 exhibitors are participating. Guests from the partner regions of Bergamo, Zwickau, Pest County, France, and Upper Galilee enrich the market with their specialties and culture.

New Stalls and Diverse Delights

There are new things to discover this year as well: The Paul Aldinger School in Steinheim is presenting its own wine, and Fischquelle and Forellenmanufaktur Watzl from Pleidelsheim are rounding out the culinary offerings. Also featured are Hungarian specialties, natural cosmetics, French cheeses, sausages, and hams, as well as Greek delicacies.

A Diverse Supporting Program Combining Culinary Delights and Nature

The accompanying program also offers a variety of experiences: On Tuesday, the schedule features a beer tasting exploring 18th-century beer culture and a chili tasting. On Wednesday, the “Wunderland Wald” adventure day invites families to exciting nature discoveries and hands-on activities. On Thursday, the Young Winemakers’ After-Work Party entices visitors with wine and music, before the Weinbande hosts its popular wine tasting on Friday.

Fruit Brandy Competition and Donation by Stall Operators

Another highlight is the fruit brandy competition on Thursday, which honors the work of small-scale fruit brandy distillers and highlights the importance of orchard meadows. During the event, a donation from the stall operators will be presented to the “
” WEISSEN RING, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026 and supports people who have been victims of crime.

District Administrator Thanks All Involved

The district administrator thanked all exhibitors, partners, as well as the organizing team and the staff of the district administration office for their dedication. He extended special thanks to the staff who prepared and carried out the Spätlingsmarkt with great commitment.
