When the Spätlingsmarkt comes to the Ludwigsburg District Office, regional quality, culinary diversity, and a convivial atmosphere come together. There will be plenty of new things to discover in 2026 as well: new vendors will enrich the market experience, the Wine and Gourmet Trail invites visitors to sample its offerings, and a varied program of events offers experiences for food lovers, the curious, and families.
New Stalls, New Flavors
The Spätlingsmarkt is going international once again: Anaïs is bringing cheese, sausage, and ham specialties from Valréas and Provence. Greek specialties will be presented by former Mayor Dr. Jörg Frauhammer from Gemmrigheim and Stratis Vasileiadis, the village head of Ormenio in Greece. From Hungary come langos and baumstriezel from Edit Zuka. The Fischquelle and Watzl Trout Factory from Pleidelsheim round out the offerings with fish specialties. Isabella Paradiso, along with her company Aurolea Skin Naturals from Remseck, presents a comprehensive range of natural products.
Wine and Culinary Delights from the Region
The Wine and Culinary Trail brings the district’s culinary diversity to life. Domäne Monrepos—the Duke of Württemberg’s winery—the Schütz Winery from Höpfigheim, and the Felsengartenkellerei will present their wines. Rösch will also offer products from its own vineyards. Those with a hearty appetite will find Swabian classics like tripe and sour kidneys at the stand of the Hirsch restaurant from Besigheim.
Francesco, Marta, and Pedro from Bergamo promise Italian culinary delights on Level 4. In addition to select mountain cheeses and salami and ham specialties, they serve freshly prepared polenta. Panna cotta, crème caramel, and budino provide a sweet finish.
A special addition comes from Steinheim: The Vocational Preparation Center (BVE) at the Paul-Aldinger-Schule and its support association will be serving the school’s own wine, combining culinary enjoyment with the dedication of young people.
Taste and Discover
The accompanying program offers enjoyment combined with knowledge and entertainment. At the chili tasting on Tuesday, November 3, those interested can explore the flavor diversity of hot peppers and test their personal tolerance for heat. That same evening, a beer tasting at 8 p.m. takes you on a journey through time: Clemens Thüsing and Michael Dahms from
s’Esele Bier in Asperg will talk about 18th-century brewing culture. The event will feature live music by the band “Die Nachbarn” and specialty snacks from Huober.
On Wednesday, November 4, nature takes center stage during the “Forest Wonderland” theme day. Interactive stations, games, and hands-on activities invite families to get to know local animals, birds, and bats, get creative, and learn exciting facts about forest conservation and nature. Additional activities await in the outdoor area.
Young Winemakers’ After-Work Party
If you’d like to wind down after work with music and a good glass of wine, the Young Winemakers’ After-Work Party on Thursday, November 5, is the place to be. Young winemakers will be pouring their wines, and DJ Rainer from Sonnenhof will provide the music. Admission is free.
And of course, a classic event is a must: At the Weinbande wine tasting on Friday, November 6, the program features exciting comparisons and culinary pairings—from a Sauvignon Blanc battle to rosé and a Syrah duel between a wine from the Ludwigsburg district and a barrique-aged Syrah from Valréas. Cheese, salami, baguette, and a sweet surprise round out the tasting.
