Use the Whitsun vacations for career guidance: Places still available at the 2019 company summer

The Whitsun vacation begins in a few days. Recovering from everyday school life is then on the students' agenda. However, they can also use the time to gain an insight into professions during the company summer taster days and to consider their professional future. This is the eighth time that the project of the Ludwigsburg district education region has taken place throughout the district. The registration figures show that many young people take advantage of this opportunity.

"Over 350 places have already been booked by young people. There are still places available in the various sectors," reports Markus Schmitt from the company summer team.

At this year's company summer, school pupils can get to know 78 employers in 24 municipalities and 80 training occupations. Employers have the opportunity to promote their professions and make contact with the skilled workers of tomorrow. The program includes, for example, guided tours of the company, discussions with trainees - and sometimes you can even lend a hand yourself.

Young people can register for up to three taster days online at www.firmensommer.de. There they can also see whether there are still places available and filter by sector, occupation and time period.

The young company summer participants are automatically insured. Registration is possible up to one week before a taster day. "If you want to be on the safe side, you should therefore register for the taster days in the 1st week of Pentecost by June 3 and for offers in the 2nd week of Pentecost by June 9," recommends Schmitt.

The company summer is also an interesting offer for pupils who are aiming to study. In addition to their apprenticeships, various employers also present their DHBW study programs.

The internet platform was made possible with the kind support of the "Jugendförderung, Arbeit und Soziales" foundation of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs. Cooperation partners are the Ludwigsburg District Skilled Workers Alliance, the Ludwigsburg Employment Agency, the Ludwigsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Ludwigsburg District Craftsmen's Association, the Ludwigsburg State Education Authority and the City of Ludwigsburg.
