Test commuting by bike for three weeks - companies in the district can score points with CITY CYCLING

Cycling to work - many people in the district of Ludwigsburg are already doing this, leading the way as pioneers of flexible and climate-friendly everyday mobility. Many of the companies based in the district also recognize that actively promoting cycling is worthwhile. "Rethinking work and business trips not only makes ecological and economic sense, but also pays off in the long term for the work-life balance of employees," emphasizes Madeleine Janker, CITY CYCLING coordinator at the district office. "In the end, cycling is also good for a company's working atmosphere."

To promote cycling commuting, the district of Ludwigsburg is once again inviting all companies to take part in the CITY CYCLING campaign this year. From July 1 to 21, commuter teams can take part in the campaign and collect kilometers for climate protection in virtual teams. During the three-week campaign period, cyclists will cycle individually - but it is the team effort that counts at the end, as the kilometers of all team members will be included in the overall ranking. In addition, the commuter teams from the Ludwigsburg district can take part in the Baden-Württemberg special category RadPENDLER BW and compete directly with commuter teams from all over Baden-Württemberg. The best teams will receive the "RadPENDLER BW 2020" award at the end of the year.

"Many companies have already registered for the CITY CYCLING event and are ready for the start on July 1. The district administration office is also taking part with a team," explains Janker. "The campaign period is the ideal opportunity to try out cycling with all colleagues. We look forward to seeing lots of teams from the companies."

Commuter teams can register to take part in CITY CYCLING at www.stadtradeln.de/landkreis-ludwigsburg from now on and during the entire campaign period from July 1 to 21. Participation is free of charge. In addition, the RadKULTUR initiative offers all companies free support in the form of text modules, shareables and a poster designer at designer.radkultur-bw.de.

For a bicycle-friendly mobility culture in Baden-Württemberg Baden-Württemberg is committed to the development of modern and sustainable mobility. The bicycle and cycling play a central role in this. The RadKULTUR initiative launched by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport in 2012 is committed to promoting a bicycle-friendly mobility culture in the state in order to make mobility behavior in the state sustainable in the long term and to increase the share of cycling in overall traffic. Together with the RadKULTUR municipalities supported by the state, it offers a diverse program to promote the fun of cycling and motivate people to get on their bikes as a matter of course in their everyday lives.
