The funding focuses on groups of people with multiple disadvantages and particular problems:
Improving access to employment and opportunities for participation for people who are particularly at risk of poverty and exclusion
The main focus here is on target groups with multiple disadvantages for whom integration into the labour market will only be possible through intermediate steps of social, psychosocial and health stabilization. These include long-term unemployed people who are particularly distant from the labour market with multiple barriers to placement, long-term benefit recipients in the legal sphere of SGB II, people with a refugee or migrant background and other marginalized population groups such as older benefit recipients and people with disabilities, people with psychosocial problems, health restrictions, addictions, excessive debt, etc. as well as women in precarious living situations, especially single parents, women who have experienced violence and/or have a migrant or refugee background.
Preventing school drop-outs and improving educational skills
The focus here should be on pupils from year 5 onwards who are at risk of school failure and/or who are clearly not ready for training, as well as marginalized young people or school drop-outs who are not (or no longer) reached by regular school systems, youth vocational assistance and training support. Project applications must fulfill one of the two objectives mentioned. Projects must be implemented taking into account the cross-cutting objectives of the ESF Plus - gender equality, equal opportunities and non-discrimination, sustainability and transnational cooperation. The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union must also be complied with.
Project sponsors can submit their applications in writing to the L-Bank in Karlsruhe by September 15, 2022. The electronic application form ELAN, available on the website www.esf-bw.de/esf/esfplus/sm/elan/, can be used for this purpose. Private individuals can benefit from participating in ESF Plus-funded projects and therefore cannot submit their own funding application. Project sponsors will be given the opportunity to present their applications at the ranking meeting of the local ESF working group of the Ludwigsburg district in October 2022 2 23.06.2022. After the content has been evaluated and prioritized according to state standards, the applications are forwarded to the L-Bank for approval. The bank makes the final decision on the distribution of the funding.

The ESF Plus is an important labor market policy instrument of the European Union (EU) for promoting employment in Europe. Since the European Economic Community was founded in 1957, it has improved employment opportunities, supported people through training and qualifications, helped to reduce disadvantages in the labor market and combated poverty and social exclusion. It is the EU's most important financing and funding instrument for investing in people. The Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration is supported in its regional funding by the regional ESF working groups, which are based in the city and district authorities and have their own funding contingent
