When completing the task, all participants were allowed to express their creativity and show their personal version of the district snail: They painted, baked, crafted, sawed, hammered and even composed.
The ten best submissions from the municipalities were forwarded to the Ludwigsburg District Office. On Monday (16 October), they were assessed by an independent jury according to the originality and recognizability of the snail motif. The award ceremony was broadcast via live stream.
Winning municipality Löchgau is delighted with the guided tour of the Ludwigsburg Zugwiesen meadows
The winning municipality of Löchgau can now look forward to a guided tour of the Ludwigsburg Zugwiesen meadows. A valuable ecosystem is brought to life in the naturally redesigned floodplain landscape with a view of the striking steep slopes. Together with the city of Ludwigsburg, a monitoring system was installed to document the processes under water. With the so-called Riverwatcher, it is possible to detect fish migration, i.e. the bypassing of the barrage. From the "Storchennest" observation tower, you have a great view of the entire biotope and the Neckar.
The jury also awarded two special prizes to their favorites. Rita Müller from Löchgau and the town hall team from Erligheim can spend an eventful day at the Tripsdrill wildlife paradise.
First state official Vogt: "The district was able to show what imaginative talents are at home here"
"I would like to thank all the artists from the three municipalities who took part in this special kind of race," said First State Official Jürgen Vogt at the award ceremony. "Once again, the district was able to show what imaginative talents are at home here."
The "snail race" was part of the program to mark the 50th anniversary of the Ludwigsburg district. Further events are planned and can be found at www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de under "Landkreisjubiläum". The next discipline of the district Olympics "I see something you don't see" will take place from November 9 to 14.
