In recent decades, numerous women have described the changes that would be needed to come closer to the goal of a gender-equitable society. However, in order to establish a truly gender-equal society, measures to promote women, as important as they are, are not enough on their own. It is also important to look at the restrictions that men experience on a daily basis, the areas of society in which they feel marginalized and what they would like to see.

In their presentation, Paulina Wojtkowiak and Kai Kabs-Ballbach will therefore focus on the masculinity requirements that have changed in recent decades - from the "patriarchal sole breadwinner" to the "cooperative care worker". But is everyone keeping up with the changes? How does this work at home, in gainful employment, in partnerships, with children? What does this mean for men in everyday life? The lecture by LAG-Jungen*- & Männer*arbeit Baden-Württemberg e.V. will look at what social developments can be expected with regard to masculinity and how men can position themselves.

The aims of International Men's Day are to improve the relationship between the sexes, promote gender equality and highlight male role models. It is an occasion to highlight the disadvantages faced by men and boys. After all, social norms, gender stereotypes and gender roles also affect men.
