For the 30th Day of German Unity: Exhibition from October 5 to 30 in the Kreishaus - Photos of the "East Side Gallery" pictures: From "Bruderkuss" to wall jumpers to steering wheel made of hammer and sickle

The fall of the Wall in 1990 prompted many artists to capture the events surrounding the historic event in pictures on the east side of the structure. This is how the now listed "Berlin East Side Gallery" was created, which has suffered from vandalism and attempts at renovation over the years. Previously, the photo artist Jo Hinko photographed the pictures and thus contributed to the documentation of the artworks in their original state. These photos will now be on display from October 5 to 30 at the Ludwigsburg District Hall, Hindenburgstr. 40, on levels 4 to 7. Visitors can view them during the usual opening hours of the Kreishaus. Important: The exhibition may only be visited with a mask and social distancing.

The image is a poster for an exhibition titled "Berliner East Side Gallery" by Jo Hinko, showcasing a photographic documentation related to the Berlin Wall's history. It includes details about the exhibition's dates, location, and themes of freedom and unity after the wall's fall in 1989.

The exhibition will be opened as part of the CDU celebration of the 30th anniversary of German unity on October 3 in the Ludwigsburg district hall. The exhibition shows photos of pictures by the artists Christine Kühn, Kani Alavi, Georg Lutz (Rauschebart), Birgit Kinder, Dimitrj Vrubel and Gabriel Heimler. The pictures show, among other things, the "brotherly kiss" between Brezhnev and Honecker, the palms of passers-by, a wall jumper and a symbolic steering wheel made of a hammer and sickle.
