"I am delighted that we are receiving such expert support from the business community in drawing up a strategy for the future. The project is an opportunity for the district of Ludwigsburg to position itself economically for the future and to consolidate our strong position through targeted further development," emphasized District Administrator Allgaier after the meeting.

Initial analysis results presented

The project team from the district economic development agency and the consulting firm VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik presented the district administrator and the business representatives with the initial results of the analysis and discussed the forecasts for the further development of the economy with those involved. These findings allow conclusions to be drawn about future requirements for skills and specialists, commercial space, networks and infrastructure. Dr. Gerd Meier zu Köcker, head of the VDI/VDE Innovation and Technology office in Baden-Württemberg, was impressed by the significant investments made by companies in future-oriented fields such as digital technologies, new forms of mobility and green technologies. "The number of companies in these future-oriented fields, their investments in research projects and their innovation activities give reason to expect some changes. The district of Ludwigsburg has great economic potential and will benefit from this in the long term if it provides its companies with targeted support in their transformation process."

The corporate landscape is changing dramatically

In the course of a multi-layered transformation, in particular due to the change in vehicle construction, but also due to the digital transformation, decarbonization, advancing globalization and demographic change, the local corporate landscape is currently undergoing major changes. In order to maintain value creation and jobs and remain an attractive business location, the district, towns and municipalities and business-related institutions are joining forces and jointly developing guidelines for the future. The aim of the future strategy is to develop a vision for the future of the Ludwigsburg district and thus sharpen the profile of the business location.
