Under the theme “Dementia—(Not) Just a Matter of Age,” the focus is on information, sharing experiences, and an open approach to the disease. The programs are aimed at people with dementia, their family members, healthcare professionals, and anyone else interested.
Dementia Is Not a Matter of Age
The kickoff event for Dementia Awareness Week will take place on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. in the Large Conference Room at the County Administration Building, 40 Hindenburgstraße, in Ludwigsburg.
In her presentation “Dementia—(Not) a Question of Age,” Christina Kuhn, executive director of Demenz Support Stuttgart and leader of a self-help group for people with memory loss, explains that dementia is far more than just a disease of old age. She will provide information about living with a dementia diagnosis, available support options, and how to lead a fulfilling life with dementia.
Counseling and One-on-One Conversations
In conjunction with the event, the district’s care support center and the support group for people with memory loss will provide information on regional counseling and support services. Afterward, there will be an opportunity for personal discussion.
