Tamara Drittenpreis, employee of the Child Protection Department and co-organizer of the symposium, explains the motivation behind the event: "When we heard about the 'Gemeinsam Engagiert in Baden-Württemberg II' call for funding from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the idea for this district-wide symposium was born. We want to focus on the topic of child protection in voluntary work."
Her colleague Philip Tiefenbach adds: "This symposium is aimed at all clubs and associations in the district in which volunteers are active and which are involved in child and youth work."

Child protection in focus: What participants can expect
The symposium offers an extensive program of lectures, workshops and world café stations. The event will kick off with a keynote speech entitled "It doesn't happen here!" by Susanne Bakaus, head of the state psychological counseling center of the Protestant Church of Baden-Württemberg.
"We want to meet everyone where they are. In addition to an introduction to the topic of child protection through our main lecture, we offer the opportunity to go into more in-depth workshops and set your own priorities," says Drittenpreis, emphasizing the wide range of topics covered at the symposium. Afterwards, participants will be able to gather information and exchange ideas in various workshops and discussion rounds. The planned workshops will cover topics such as participation, feedback methods and dealing with past incidents.
