Change in the nature conservation officers

After ten years, Karl Schmid has retired from his position as nature conservation officer. In future, Hermann Großmann from Bietigheim-Bissingen will advise the district on nature conservation issues.

Four men stand in a conference room, each positioned in front of large wooden doors. They are dressed in formal and semi-formal attire, and they are looking towards the camera, with neutral expressions. The setting features warm wood tones and brick walls.

The mask was only removed for a short time (from left): District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier bids farewell to the previous nature conservation officer Karl Schmid and welcomes his successor Hermann Großmann. The term of office of Axel Armbruster from Bietigheim was extended for a further five years.

After ten years as the Ludwigsburg district council's nature conservation officer, Karl Schmid was bid farewell at the meeting of the district council's Environment and Technology Committee on Monday afternoon. In addition to his work as nature conservation officer, the master farmer was also active in numerous other honorary positions, such as on the board of the district farmers' association (1991-2005). On July 1, 2011, Schmid was appointed for the first time by the Committee for Environment and Technology as nature conservation officer for the north-eastern district, including the municipalities of Affalterbach, Benningen, Erdmannhausen, Freiberg, Großbottwar, Marbach a.N., Murr, Oberstenfeld, Pleidelsheim and Steinheim.

Schmid's successor is Hermann Großmann. The 69-year-old was most recently head of the building yard and the municipal nursery in Bietigheim-Bissingen. In his almost 40 years with the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen, Großmann has achieved a great deal. One of his biggest projects was the 1989 State Garden Show, where he represented the green planning and ecological interests of the town to the planners and provided support during construction supervision. Thanks to his experience, Großmann is highly qualified to take on the responsible role of nature conservation officer.

The term of office of Axel Armbruster from Bietigheim, who has been advising and supporting the lower nature conservation authority at the district office since July 1, 2016, was extended by a further five years. The forestry graduate has been head of the Bietigheim forestry district since 2005 and is responsible for nature conservation in the north of the district, including the municipalities of Besigheim, Bietigheim-Bissingen, Bönnigheim, Erligheim, Freudental, Gemmrigheim, Hessigheim, Ingersheim, Kirchheim, Löchgau, Mundelsheim, Sachsenheim, Tamm and Walheim.
