A few days ago, eleven municipalities (ILE municipalities) and the district founded the "Neckarschleifen Regional Development" association to promote small-scale projects that serve to preserve steep-slope viticulture and the wine culture landscape. This created the prerequisite for using the regional budget funding program.

The regional budget for small projects is an additional funding pot designated at federal level to strengthen rural areas.

The municipalities of Benningen am Neckar, Besigheim, Bönnigheim, Freiberg am Neckar, Gemmrigheim, Hessigheim, Ingersheim, Kirchheim am Neckar, Lauffen am Neckar, Mundelsheim and Walheim have joined forces in the new association.

Mayor Dr. Jörg Frauhammer (Gemmrigheim) was elected chairman of the newly founded association. His deputies are Mayor Uwe Seibold (Kirchheim am Neckar) and District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. "We are very pleased that we will be able to support many small project ideas with the regional budget," announced Frauhammer at the meeting.

The call for projects will be published in the coming days.
