Event "Female boss - barriers and bridges" on October 15 at Ingersheim Town Hall - How to overcome the challenges of balancing family and career

Only around ten percent of town halls and district councils in Germany are run by women. Even in the private sector, the proportion of women in top management positions is far below average at around 26 percent. What are the reasons for the low proportion of women in management positions? What conditions are needed to achieve equal representation of women and men in management positions in line with the proportion of the population? How can the challenges of balancing family and career be overcome? These questions will be addressed at the event "Female bosses - barriers and bridges" on October 15 from 5.00 to 7.30 pm in the meeting room of Ingersheim town hall (Hindenburgplatz 10). The keynote speech will be given by Prof. em. Dr. sc. oec. Uta Meier-Gräwe. This will be followed by a panel discussion. Admission is free.

Participants in the panel discussion are Simone Lehnert, Mayor of the municipality of Ingersheim, Prof. em. Dr. sc. Oec. Uta Meier-Gräwe, Bettina Scholz, Commercial Director of Scholz GmbH in Freiberg am Neckar, Dr. Christian Sußner, Head of the Environment, Technology and Construction Department at the Ludwigsburg District Office, and Kerstin Wulle, Director of the "Karl-Ehmer-Stift" nursing home and the WohnenPLUS residence in Ingersheim. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Claudia Mocek, Editorial Director of the Bietigheimer Zeitung.

Professor em. Dr. sc. oec. Uta Meier-Gräwe represents the so-called "care-centered economy". Central to this is the demand to define care work as the basis for all economic activity. She calls for the division of paid work and care work to no longer be seen as a private matter, but to create a framework that enables people to perform paid work and care work without being overburdened.
