Environmental Prize 2025 awarded in the district of Ludwigsburg

This year's winners of the Environmental Award 2025 have distinguished themselves with innovative ideas and great commitment to nature and the environment. Twelve projects, groups and individuals from across the district were honored for their outstanding commitment at an award ceremony in the Louis-Bührer-Saal of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg. The prize money, worth a total of 10,000 euros, is donated jointly by the Ludwigsburg District Office and the Foundation for Environmental and Nature Conservation of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg.

A diverse group of individuals, including children and adults, stands together on stage, holding awards. The backdrop features a large screen displaying "Umweltpreis 2025" and the date "22.07.2025." The setting appears to be a formal award ceremony.

Twelve projects, groups and private individuals from across the district were awarded the Environmental Award 2025 for their outstanding commitment (Ludwigsburg District Office).

"Voluntary commitment to environmental, nature and species protection is not only valuable today - this commitment is indispensable," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier. "We live in a time in which habitats are dwindling, species are disappearing and the climate is changing noticeably. But instead of giving up, you are leading the way," said the District Administrator, addressing the award winners.

Dr. Heinz-Werner Schulte, Chairman of the Board of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg and member of the Board of the Kreisparkasse Foundation "Environment and Nature Conservation", said in his welcoming address: "All those who submitted their projects to the 'Environmental Award 2025' competition basically serve the same idea as our foundation 'Environment and Nature Conservation': Namely, the idea of working actively and with commitment today to ensure that the environment and nature can still be intact tomorrow."

Aim: to recognize voluntary work in the environmental sector

The aim of the prize is to promote voluntary work by private individuals, clubs and associations as well as educational institutions in the environmental sector and to recognize this commitment, which is otherwise often neglected. The prizewinners invest a great deal of time, energy and money in their spare time in projects close to their hearts without expecting any financial reward.
