Extensive renovation work on Schulstraße will begin on June 15

Due to extensive utility and road construction work, Schulstraße in Gerlingen will be completely closed starting Monday, June 15, 2026. The work is expected to continue through November.

The section affected is between the intersection of Kirchstraße and Weilimdorfer Straße and the cross street. The closure begins at 7 a.m.

Several construction projects are being carried out simultaneously

To minimize disruptions for residents and road users overall, several necessary construction measures are being carried out simultaneously. In addition to laying the local heating pipeline and replacing the water main, the bus stop there is also being renovated to make it accessible. As part of the civil engineering work, the existing pavement on Schulstraße will also be replaced with an asphalt roadway. Construction work on Schulstraße is expected to last until November 13, 2026.

Detours via Dieselstraße and Ringstraße

Detours will be set up. Traffic coming from Weilimdorf will be diverted via Dieselstraße and Ditzinger Straße; traffic from Schillerhöhe heading toward Leonberg will be diverted via Ringstraße.

Weilimdorfer Straße Reopened

There is good news for residents and commuters even before the new closure begins: The current closure of Weilimdorfer Straße ends today, Friday, June 12, 2026.

The District Office asks all road users for their understanding regarding the disruptions during the construction period.
