Light Rail: Committees to Discuss New Compensation Offer

At Thursday’s meeting of the Board of Directors of the Ludwigsburg County Light Rail Association, the City of Ludwigsburg presented the association’s members with a new offer for a compensation payment. This payment is being requested due to the route restrictions approved by the Ludwigsburg City Council. The City of Ludwigsburg had most recently passed a resolution in its council to reimburse approximately 70 percent of the contributions made to Remseck, Schwieberdingen, and the Pattonville Special-Purpose Association as compensation. During yesterday’s discussion, the offer was increased to 75 percent within this framework. This proposal will now be discussed by the municipal committees.

Furthermore, the members of the special-purpose association have agreed that all necessary issues regarding the route to be reactivated should be addressed by the end of the year so that a decision can be made on the project’s next steps and the composition of the special-purpose association.

Willingness to Reactivate the Line

Furthermore, Ludwigsburg, Markgröningen, Möglingen, and the Ludwigsburg district made clear their willingness to implement the reactivation of the line between Markgröningen and Ludwigsburg as soon as the technical and economic conditions are in place. In this context, the possibility of Remseck, Schwieberdingen, and the Pattonville Special-Purpose Association withdrawing from the Light Rail Special-Purpose Association in the Ludwigsburg district is also being examined.
