Seminar program from January to July: What is important for single parents

From January to July, the district's "Help for Single Parents" department will once again be offering seminars in room 401 of the district administration office. Childcare is offered for all events. Seminar participation and childcare are free of charge.

Attachment and relationships are important factors for positive learning. The lecture "Sustainable successful learning - Hausis, 1x1, Vokabeln und Co" by Andrea Ertl, learning consultant, systemic coach and pedagogical assistant, will address this topic in the first seminar on Tuesday, January 30 from 4 to 5.30 pm. The lecture will provide basic knowledge for supporting children and young people of all ages. Parents and other caregivers will learn what conditions are important for sustainable and effective learning outside of school and preschool and how these can be easily integrated into everyday life. This enables children and young people to develop a high degree of self-efficacy and develop their potential.

Seminar topics range from relaxation and digital media to setting boundaries

The second seminar entitled "Tonies, apps & tablets - digital media in the family" will take place on Tuesday, March 19, from 4 to 5.30 p.m. and will be led by Silvia Bösl, a qualified social pedagogue and freelance media pedagogical speaker. Even young children grow up with a variety of media. They are fascinated by smartphones and tablets. However, children need support and limits from adults when using media. This raises various questions for parents, such as: "What are suitable media for my child and how can we find good rules for our family?" Information, tips and discussions on this topic are available at the seminar for single parents.

On Tuesday, May 7, "Time for ME, time for me" from 4 to 6 p.m. is all about relaxation. As a single parent, you are constantly under pressure and pressed for time. This situation should change in the two seminar hours. Sonja Ohren, a qualified social education worker at the Ludwigsburg District Office and relaxation teacher, will lead the seminar. After a joint start, the seminar participants can choose from various activities in a cozy atmosphere. In a relaxation corner, there will be tips on how to take a little time out, in the creative corner you can do handicrafts, there will be a clothes swap and two lightning rounds of 30 minutes each, which participants can join spontaneously. The following topics are planned for the lightning rounds: "How do I take good care of myself?" and "Where do I see myself in a year's time?" The afternoon will be rounded off with a group discussion.

Expert gives tips on how to introduce rules

The fourth seminar entitled "Now but no more - setting boundaries also helps single parents and children" will take place on Tuesday, July 2, from 4 to 5.30 p.m. and will be held by

Kristina Sagel- Strittmatter, psychological-pedagogical learning therapist at PTE Ludwigsburg. How can you do justice to everyone in the family by introducing rules, agreements and point plans? Single parents often bear a large part of the responsibility for parenting. In trying to achieve the best for the children, single parents often go beyond their own limits. However, in order to ensure that these boundaries are maintained, it can be useful to draw up rules and agree so-called contracts. During the lecture, participants will learn how rules can be set up to suit the situation at home and how compliance with them can be ensured.

Please register by telephone on 07141/144-42781 or by e-mail to: Sonja.Ohren[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de. Supervision of the children is planned in group room 237.

The "Help for Single Parents" office, room 518 (level 5) in the Ludwigsburg district building, Hindenburgstraße 40, also offers telephone and face-to-face advice as well as open consultation hours on Mondays from 9 to 11 am. Counseling is possible there without an appointment.
