Most beautiful places in the steep slopes wanted

The photo competition "My favorite place on a steep slope" brings the uniqueness of the terraced steep slopes in the Ludwigsburg district a little further into focus. The winners can look forward to tasty samples from the steep slopes.

A serene landscape featuring lush green vineyards along a riverbank. Morning mist gently rises over the fields, creating a tranquil atmosphere. The sun casts a warm glow across the scene, highlighting the natural beauty of the countryside.

Magnificent view: the steep slopes near Hessigheim.

"The unique cultural landscape of the steep slopes and their sustainable preservation are particularly close to my heart," says District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas. "Our photo competition draws the attention of visitors to the steep slopes to the uniqueness of the spectacular views and combines wine culture, landscape and tourism." The district cordially invites all passionate photographers to take their cameras on a journey of discovery through the many steep slopes in the district. We are looking for the most beautiful, most atmospheric or most detailed photo in and from the steep slopes in our district. Whether you are a hiker, walker, cyclist or wine connoisseur, all participants are invited to capture their "favorite place on a steep slope" and send the photos to the district (vermessung.flurneuordnung@landkreis-ludwigsburg.de). The deadline for entries is June 30, 2019.

The terraced steep slopes on the slopes of the Neckar Valley are a central element of the historically evolved cultural landscape. The integrated rural development concept "Neckarschleifen" (ILEK) has already dedicated itself to the preservation and further development of terraced steep-slope viticulture. Through an inter-municipal association of many neighboring municipalities and the involvement of other stakeholders from the winegrowing sector, projects and activities are used to identify and initiate impulses for steep slope viticulture, which is currently facing a profitability crisis. Targeted projects will be implemented with the resulting regional management.

The winners can look forward to a culinary tasting from the steep slopes. The winning pictures and best landscape shots will be published and used in the district's marketing projects.
