The reason for the renovation is the poor condition of the road surface. The county road has numerous areas of damage and therefore requires urgent repairs. In areas with particularly severe damage, the gravel base layers will also be removed and soil stabilization measures will be carried out. In addition, the guardrails will be reinstalled in accordance with current guidelines.
Complete Closure and Detour
The affected section is County Road 1651 outside of town between Nussdorf and Eberdingen, as well as the section of the road through Eberdingen up to the intersection with County Road 1688.
A full closure will be in effect during construction. The signposted detour runs from Eberdingen via County Road 1688 to Riet and from there via County Road 1694 to Nussdorf. The detour route is open to private motor vehicles and heavy trucks.
Bus service between Nussdorf and Eberdingen will also be rerouted. The detour route already in use due to the closure of Martinstraße in Nussdorf will be utilized. The “Nussdorfer Str.” bus stop in Eberdingen cannot be served during construction.
Construction Work Deliberately Scheduled After the Bike Race
The renovation will take place in conjunction with the existing road closure due to the renovation of the main thoroughfare through Nussdorf. To avoid placing additional strain on the residents of Eberdingen and, in particular, to ensure that the bicycle race scheduled for September 13, 2026, is not disrupted, work will not begin until after the event.
The total cost of the construction project amounts to approximately 900,000 euros. Funding is provided through the LuKIFG (State and Municipal Infrastructure Financing Act).
The District Office asks all road users and residents for their understanding regarding the disruptions and restrictions associated with the renovation. The renovation is intended to improve traffic safety and ensure the county road is sustainably upgraded for years to come.
