"Today we are standing here at the Paul-Aldinger-Schule, celebrating not only a school anniversary, but also the progress we have made together; and a vision that has long since become a living reality: accessibility and integration in education," explained District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier in his speech.
The history of the Paul-Aldinger-Schule reflects the changes in the educational landscape. Teaching began in the fall of 1974, at that time still under the sponsorship of the town of Steinheim. In 1978, the district of Ludwigsburg took over responsibility for the then special schools for mentally handicapped pupils. Today, the Paul-Aldinger-Schule is a recognized educational and advisory center in the district.
Individual support and social participation
As a special education and counseling center (SBBZ), the school attaches great importance to the holistic development of its students. "The aim is to achieve self-determination and the greatest possible independence and to enable pupils to participate in society in all areas of everyday life," emphasized the district administrator. The children are taught at the main school in Kleinbottwar as well as in cooperative organizational forms at nearby mainstream schools.
Principal Safaiemphasizes the importance of community and values
Nico Safai, who has officially been Head of School since October 2024, also emphasized the importance of community for the school's success: "Over the past 50 years, we have accompanied, encouraged and supported countless pupils - and not only imparted knowledge, but also passed on values such as respect, empathy and acceptance."
The school festival attracted numerous visitors with a colorful program of music, hands-on activities and project exhibitions. The pupils proudly presented their work and showed how diverse and creative learning is at the Paul-Aldinger-Schule.
