For 28 years, the Robert-Franck-Schule Ludwigsburg has maintained an intensive student exchange with the Anne Frank School in the Upper Galilee. "Many friendships have formed during this time," says Achim Henke, who has been involved in the student exchange for many years. The reception of the Israeli colleagues at the Robert Frank School, which took place as part of the 8th German-Israeli teachers' seminar currently taking place at the invitation of the Ludwigsburg district, was correspondingly warm. The desire to resume the student exchange quickly became clear during the joint discussions. A visit by the Israeli students to the Ludwigsburg district is therefore already planned for the end of this school year. An attractive program including a visit to Berlin is already available. At the suggestion of the Israeli side, the aspect of climate protection, which is becoming increasingly important for the young people, is to be included. In the following year, a return visit is planned with students from the Robert Franck School of Economics in the Upper Galilee.
At the joint meeting, principal Wolfgang Ulshöfer emphasized that the meeting of young people from both nations is a matter close to his heart and that this student exchange is a great success story. "We have always been lucky that over this long period of time we have always been able to find young and committed colleagues who were keen to work in the Israel team and have also shown the necessary commitment." "A team of 4 to 6 people with a wealth of experience and new ideas was always the guarantee for a sustainable student exchange," says Ulshöfer, who himself accompanied his students to Israel several times and works on the advisory board for new Israel exchanges at the Stuttgart Regional Council. "Of course, we are also very grateful for any financial support - for example from our school authority, the district of Ludwigsburg. What is even more important, however, is that each and every one of us can feel that all those responsible in the district office are 100% behind us in this project," says Ulshöfer.
