District Administrator Allgaier was in the Upper Galilee for the second time. Every trip makes him even more familiar with the country and its people. "History obliges Germany to have a very special relationship with Israel. The security of the State of Israel is a matter of state for Germany. What applies at the level of major politics in our two countries is also a task for the regions and municipalities," said the District Administrator during his trip. This took place on the occasion of 40 years of friendship with the Upper Galilee.
Musicians from both countries give a joint concert
The focus of this friendship has always been on young people. District Administrator Allgaier was therefore all the more pleased that the district youth orchestra - also thanks to the support of the Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg Foundation - was also in Israel with almost 40 members for a concert at the Clore Center. The members of the orchestra performed together with Israeli musicians in front of a full house. It was also the farewell concert in honor of Chairman Giora Salz, who was awarded the district's Medal of Merit in June of this year and will leave office at the end of October after around eleven years.
Impressive moments during the trip through the partner region
During their trip through the partner region, the delegation members visited Kibbutz Shamir, whose working methods and cooperation with the regional government were presented to them in detail. They were also very impressed by Kibbutz Misgav Am. This is located within sight of the Lebanese border. "From here, you could literally feel the proximity to Hezbollah, which is based there," reports Sabrina Förstner, who is responsible for the partner regions at the district office. The same applied to the bunker facility built just two years ago next to the district administration there. "This is permanently manned by employees from the security department and is intended to coordinate the work of the fire department, police and emergency services in the event of an emergency," explains Förstner.
Exchange also at a professional level
Experts from the field of civil protection and disaster control who had traveled with the company exchanged ideas on site. Security concepts for civil protection and disaster control were presented. There was also a further professional exchange between representatives of care facilities from the district and the Upper Galilee during a visit to the "Vatikai Hagalile" day care facility for senior citizens. During the day, from Monday to Friday, they can take advantage of a wide range of different activities, from foreign languages, computers and literature to music and sport. Teachers from the neighboring university and other volunteers run the courses. The offer is made possible by a strong network of all those involved.
A professional exchange between mayors from the Ludwigsburg district and the Upper Galilee with visits and return visits is also planned for next year.
