Equipped with tongs, gloves and bin bags, some of the district council's climate pilots set out to clear the local area of garbage. As part of its spring cleaning week under the motto "Putzteufelswild!", the city of Ludwigsburg had called on everyone to take a stand against environmental pollution. The climate-committed employees of the district administration office took this opportunity to collect numerous discarded cigarette butts, candy wrappers and other packaging.
As climate pilots for more sustainability
For a year now, the district administration has been offering its own employees the opportunity to get involved in sustainability issues in a very practical way as climate pilots during working hours. Last year, for example, three apple trees were planted on the grounds of the district administration office and colleagues received numerous tips and advice on how to save energy. The climate-neutral administration officers coordinate and support the work of the climate pilots.
"I think it's great that there are employees in almost all areas of the administration who care about this issue and are willing to lend a hand on the road to climate-neutral administration. Avoiding waste and pollution is an issue with a lot of relevance to everyday life, where we can take sustainability into our own hands in the truest sense of the word," says District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.
With their campaign, the district administration's climate pilots would like to inspire their colleagues, but also other people, to stop carelessly throwing garbage into the environment and perhaps even lend a hand themselves on a walk.
Hard-working helpers welcome: Forest clean-up day on March 16
Another opportunity to do this is the Forest Cleaning Day on Saturday, March 16, when litter is collected in local forests. The campaign is initiated by the ForestCleanUp organization. In the district of Ludwigsburg, the forestry department and the municipalities of Sachsenheim and Korntal-Münchingen are taking part.
Volunteers can lend a hand from 9.30 am. Meeting points are in Korntal-Münchingen at the forest playground on the Höhenweg (Seewald) and in Sachsenheim at the hiking parking lot near the forest parking lot near the Benzlesriedweiher.
