After the burnout came unemployment. And with unemployment, depression crept quietly
and secretly into his life.
When Denis Hermann first came into contact with the Ludwigsburg district job center for advice around 15 years ago,
things were not looking good for his career prospects. "It was only when I spoke to my case manager
that I realized it would be a while before I was fit for the primary labour market
again," he recalls. But Hermann decided to go the long way - even if the
first steps were difficult. He collected garbage at train stations, completed job application courses
and a therapy workshop at Diakonie and Karlshöhe. "That built me up
and really motivated me," he reports.
At the same time, the Ludwigsburg district job center tailored a tailor-made
support program for him. He was assigned a personal coach who regularly advised him
. "As a result, I increasingly regained confidence and security in my own
strengths," recalls Hermann. The job center included him in the support program
§16i SGB II "Participation in the labour market". In concrete terms, this meant that he was given a
fixed-term employment contract with the company Pflanzen Kölle in
Stuttgart, which was supported by the job center. He benefited from the fact that he had already completed an apprenticeship as an ornamental plant gardener
.
His new employer was happy with him right from the start. So satisfied, in fact, that Hermann
was given a permanent, unsubsidized employment contract. It is now even
conceivable that he could take on management tasks in the future. "Very satisfied and balanced"
he says, "I enjoy going to work every day with great motivation and enthusiasm."
For the team at the Ludwigsburg district job center, such examples are always a motivation
and an incentive. Since 2019, 112 customers of the Ludwigsburg district job center have found work with the help of
this support program under §16i SGB II "Participation in the labour market".
Things don't always go as smoothly as they did for Denis Hermann, says his job center advisor Doreen
Köhler. "But over the years, we have learned that with perseverance and patience, many
paths lead to success."
