"I am very pleased that the payment card is now being introduced. It is an effective instrument for preventing monetary incentives to enter the country, stopping the transfer of money abroad and avoiding costly cash withdrawals," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, welcoming the changeover.
50 euros per person per month can be withdrawn in cash
The first people entitled to benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (AsylbLG) in the district of Ludwigsburg are to receive their benefits on the payment card from March 1, 2025. In principle, 50 euros per person per month can be withdrawn in cash from the standard benefits.
After the changeover, the people affected will receive a letter informing them of the date for collecting the payment card. Any unanswered questions can be clarified on the spot when the card is collected from the district office.
The payment card can be used wherever Visa is accepted
The payment card does not differ in terms of functionality or design from other Visa debit cards issued by banks and can be used wherever Visa is accepted. Withdrawals are free of charge for purchases in many stores, while ATMs charge 65 cents per withdrawal.
Branch in Ludwigsburg partially closed due to changeover on February 4 and 5
Due to the changeover to the payment card, the Asylum Services section of the district administration office, Auf dem Wasen 9, in Ludwigsburg, will be closed on Tuesday, February 4 and Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Personal appointments are not possible on these two days.
However, the Info Point and the Patient Assistance Team can be contacted by telephone on 07141 144-2320 and 07141 144-42488 and by email at: asylbewerber@landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
The partial closure on these two days is necessary due to the large volume of work. The Asylum Accommodation and Asylum Social Services departments in the Auf dem Wasen branch office will be available without restriction on both days.
