District office rewards cycling employees

At the district administration office in Ludwigsburg, all-weather cyclists were thanked for the first time with a greeting card and chocolate for their commitment to the environment and health.

Four individuals stand outdoors near a bicycle. They are smiling and wearing masks. One person holds a bike, while another holds a piece of paper, possibly a document related to the bike. The setting appears to be a sunny day in a residential area.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier - with the district office's cycling officers Lisa Röthinger (left) and Madeleine Janker - thanks employees who also get on their bikes in winter, here Ulrich Müller, who regularly cycles from Ditzingen to Ludwigsburg.

As soon as the days get shorter and the temperatures lower, the wheat is separated from the chaff: while some take their bikes into the cellar for the winter, others zip the hood up on their outdoor jacket and take the seasonal adversities in their stride.

These all-weather cyclists have now been honored for the first time at the district administration office in Ludwigsburg. Anyone who parked their bike on Wednesday, February 24, at one of the numerous bike parking facilities at the district administration office found it hung with thank-you cards and chocolate in the afternoon. The occasion was the international Winter Bike to Work Day, which is celebrated every year in February. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier was delighted with the successful campaign: "It's great to see that more and more colleagues are using bikes as a means of transportation all year round. We would just like to say thank you to them with this little gift." Of course, this alone is not enough: "Our wish is to improve and expand the existing cycling facilities at the district administration office. In this way, we want to make it attractive for as many employees as possible to switch to cycling."
