Thanks to your expert commitment, the district council has made pioneering decisions for local public transport in recent decades and expanded buses and trains for the future."
The head of the district administration continued: "You maintain many personal contacts with our friends in the partner regions for the district's partnerships and thus help to keep the partnerships alive. In addition to your commitment to local politics, you also work to improve the living conditions of people in poor countries. With the non-profit organization "International Aid Services", you support needy groups in developing countries in the planning and implementation of aid projects in order to improve the situation there directly and sustainably."
District Administrator Haas thanked Gessler for his commitment to the benefit of the district and its citizens and wished him "all the best, but above all good health".
