District Administrator Dr. Haas: "The cooperation of all social forces in refugee aid is working very well in the district of Ludwigsburg"

State Minister for Social Affairs and Integration, Manne Lucha, visited the Tuesday as part of his summer tour of the Ecumenical Asylum Center in Ludwigsburg as part of his summer tour.

A group of six people is engaged in conversation near display boards in a modern indoor setting. The individuals, dressed in business attire, appear to be discussing the information presented on the boards, which feature various documents and images.

District Administrator Dr. Haas said at the meeting: "The accommodation and
integration of refugees has presented the district with major
challenges in recent years. The ecumenical asylum center shows that the cooperation
of all social forces in refugee aid in the district of Ludwigsburg
is working very well." The Ecumenical Asylum Office is responsible for supporting, advising
and training the refugee aid working groups in the district of Ludwigsburg
.

During the state minister's visit, the various services offered by the Ecumenical
Asylum Office were presented. Silvia Maier-Lidle from the Kreisdiakonieverband said that the projects for the qualification and
care of volunteers in refugee aid are an important pillar.
In the period from 2014 to 2019, around 50 asylum groups were supported in setting up
and advised. Over 1,000 volunteers in the
district of Ludwigsburg have already been qualified through the "Asylum driving license". In addition, the asylum department has created the networking platform
"Forum Asyl im Landkreis Ludwigsburg", and since 2015 there have been 19 forums for
exchange with around 50 representatives from all working groups, reported Caritas-
colleague Martha Albinger on the work of the asylum department.
"Civic engagement for, but above all by and with refugees
is of considerable importance for integration," said Minister Lucha. "Engagement in
this area contributes significantly to social cohesion and strengthens our
democracy." However, volunteers also need reliable
support from full-time staff in order to work successfully. Against this backdrop, Lucha was impressed
by the structures that have been created and supported in the area of voluntary integration work in the district of Ludwigsburg
.

The work of the district administration's social services for refugees was also presented.
Head of Social Affairs Heiner Pfrommer reported on the positive development that the labor market integration
of recognized refugees is increasing. However, according to Jürgen
Vogt, first state official of the district administration, it is also clear that the integration process is not yet
complete. "In order to stabilize the successful integration of refugees,
continuation of integration management and support from the state is urgently needed even after 2020
", says Vogt. The
"Pact for Integration" adopted by the state of Baden-Württemberg in 2017, which was implemented in the district of Ludwigsburg in January 2018,
provides funding for two years for the comprehensive provision of social counseling for refugees.
The Ökumenische Fachstelle Asyl is run by Caritas Ludwigburg Waiblingen Enz and
Kreisdiakonieverband Ludwigsburg and is funded without public subsidies.
The district of Ludwigsburg operates a total of 60 shared accommodation facilities, which are occupied by 1,646
refugees.
