District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier takes over patronage of the "Wildcat Corridor" project

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier has taken over the patronage of the BUND district association's "Wildcat Corridor" project from his predecessor Dr. Rainer Haas. He explained this during the inaugural visit of BUND district chairman Stefan Flaig and his deputy Werner Brekle. "The project is important in order to preserve the habitats of the animals," said Allgaier.

The BUND district association's "Wildcat Corridor" project aims to define and enhance the wildlife corridors that are possible between the Stromberg and Franconian Forest nature parks, especially for the wildcat. "What helps the wildcat helps all wildlife in the densely populated district of Ludwigsburg," said Flaig, explaining the importance of large-scale networking of forest habitats.

With the general wildlife route plan, the state of Baden-Württemberg has created a specialist plan that is intended to preserve and enhance the most important wildlife corridors. However, this requires suitable areas to be made available or acquired and upgraded accordingly. District Administrator Allgaier appeals to the local authorities to support the project in this respect.
