District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier: "An important step towards climate neutrality"

The district of Ludwigsburg has converted part of its vehicle fleet to e-mobility. A total of 19 Nissan Leaf, nine Toyota Prius Hybrid and three Nissan electric vans are now part of the district administration's fleet. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier is delighted with the new vehicles and emphasizes: "The conversion of the vehicle fleet is an important step towards climate neutrality." The district is receiving a total of 984,281 euros in funding for e-mobility from three federal funding programs.

At the commissioning ceremony for the e-vehicles, the head of the district administration said: "The district is setting a good example and is actively participating in sustainable mobility in the district of Ludwigsburg. As the district administration, we want to achieve the goal of climate neutrality by 2035. We are well on the way to achieving this: the district has already reduced its CO2 emissions by 65 percent compared to 1990." The district is participating in the e-mobility project with its own contribution of 360,325 euros.

The conversion of the vehicle fleet, which previously consisted mainly of diesel vehicles, is intended to make a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. The central vehicle fleet, which all employees of the district administration office have access to for business trips, now consists of nine electric vehicles, seven hybrid vehicles and only four diesel vehicles (EURO 6). The other electric and hybrid vehicles are assigned directly to the individual departments.

Applications for three federal funding pots were approved for the e-mobility project: Nine plug-in hybrid vehicles, two electric vehicles and three charging boxes were funded via the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety's (BMU) municipal guidelines. The "Clean Air Immediate Action Program" of the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) subsidized 20 electric vehicles and 20 e-charging stations. The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWI) funded the installation of the charging infrastructure in the district office and the branch offices.
