District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier recently visited Korntal-Münchingen as part of his district tour. He discussed the allocation of refugees and the feared energy crisis with the head of administration.

District Administrator Allgaier has set himself the goal of visiting all 39 municipalities in the district and talking to the mayors on site. These days, he went to Korntal-Münchingen, which has a population of around 18,500.

Since the beginning of the year, the municipalities in the district have had to overcome additional challenges that could not have been foreseen. The consequences of the war in Ukraine are having a massive impact on the administrations. During District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier's visit to Korntal-Münchingen, two items were on the agenda that are due to the consequences of the war in Europe. On the one hand, these were the unrelenting flow of refugees and crisis management and measures in response to a gas shortage.

In Korntal town hall, the district administrator exchanged views with Mayor Dr. Joachim Wolf, who was connected digitally due to the coronavirus, First Deputy Mayor Alexander Noak and the heads of the various departments. Heiner Pfrommer, Head of the Department of Labor, Youth and Social Affairs, and Oliver Reichert, Economic Development Manager, also joined the panel from the district administration.

Other topics discussed on the day included the regional trade focus in Korntal-Münchingen and the legal entitlement to all-day care at elementary school, which is due to come into force from the 2026/27 school year. The representatives of the Korntal-Münchingen administration also spoke out in favor of funding integration assistance in the daycare sector and inter-municipal control of the tiger mosquito. "Well-functioning cooperation with the district is very important to us. In particular, we need to coordinate within the district and prepare together for the winter, which we cannot yet predict exactly what we will face," emphasized Mayor Dr. Joachim Wolf.

District Administrator Allgaier promised the district's support for the issues and concerns mentioned as far as possible. The existing exchange is to be intensified in various fields of activity in order to continue the good cooperation between the municipality of Korntal-Münchingen and the district on a broad basis.
