In the district of Ludwigsburg, the RadCHECK will be offered in the first week of June at the Glemsaue school center, the Remseck secondary school, the Blankenstein community school and the Hanfbach school. The campaign is supported by the RadKULTUR initiative of the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport.
In the mobile workshop, interested pupils can have their own bicycles checked for roadworthiness by expert mechanics. Brakes, lights, bells and tire pressure are checked and minor repairs are carried out on the spot. During the check, the students also receive valuable tips on bike maintenance and care: Does the chain need to be oiled? Are there enough reflectors? How is the saddle adjusted correctly? "Especially at the start of the outdoor season, it makes sense to have your bike checked by an expert," emphasizes Daniela Laßmann, the district's climate protection manager, adding: "With this campaign, we want to motivate pupils to cycle to school even more often."

About the RadKULTUR initiative: The RadKULTUR initiative launched by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport in 2012 is committed to promoting a bicycle-friendly mobility culture in the state in order to make mobility behavior in the state sustainable in the long term and increase the share of cycling in overall traffic.
