In May, June and September, there are interesting things to learn and experience first-hand in direct contact with the producers of local products. In addition to the "Hohenhaslach Wineries Day", there are four guided tours of the wineries. Registered participants are welcome to visit the Petschl farm in Marbach, the Demeter farm "Bühlerhof" in Murr, the Grau poultry farm in Sersheim and the Sperling family's organic fruit and vegetable farm with laying hens in Stuttgart-Mühlhausen. On Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15, the series of events will kick off in Sachsenheim-Hohenhaslach with the "Day of the Hohenhaslach Wineries".
Seven wineries from Hohenhaslach will be hosting the event, opening their doors for visitors to linger and discover. Among them is the FRIED Baumgärtner winery at Freudentaler Straße 32. The family-run winery produces sustainable regional wines on 10 hectares of vineyards. Visitors can tour the cellar from 5 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. on Sunday and enjoy cakes, crêpes and tarte flambée, among other things. The Baumgärtner panorama winery at Steige 94 welcomes visitors on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. for tours of the cellar, the wine show garden and the viewing platform. The family winery grows international grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah and Malbec in addition to the classic grape varieties. The Landgasthof Stromberg serves asparagus dishes, among other things. Geological tours (2.8 kilometer hike) take place on both days from 2 to 4 pm. The meeting point is Kelterplatz 11 in the immediate vicinity of the Panorama Wine Estate (€10/p. P.; please register in advance with Mr. Ensinger Tel.: 0176 98281674, E-Mail: hbensinger@tonline.de). The Katzer winery at Ochsenbacher Straße 46 will be open on both days from 11.30 a.m. for "Gläserne Produktion" (glass production) and its "Wengerthäusle" wine bar. There will be guided tours of the cellar and wine press to learn interesting facts about winegrowing and vinification. The Gerd Keller winery at Rechentshofer Straße 8 welcomes guests on both days from 11 a.m. to taste the new 2021 collection and at the coffee and sparkling wine bar. Swabian specialties are available on Saturday from 4 pm and Sunday from 11 am. The Kurt and Dietmar Ott winery opens on both days from 11 a.m. at Kirchstraße 4 to 6 and offers informative cellar tours and short adventure walks through the vineyards, among other things. Visitors can satisfy their hunger with onion, potato and wild garlic cake baked on vine wood in the historic bakery, spit roast and other regional specialties as well as home-baked goods and coffee. WeinGut Weiberle in Horrheimer Straße 4 opens its doors to visitors from 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. on Sunday. Typical regional and traditional wines are available in the VinoThek. Informative covered wagon rides through the vineyards are offered on the Hohenhaslach Wineries Day. Information on red wine production will be clearly presented. There will also be a wine tasting stand, delicious food from the grill and kitchen, as well as coffee and cake on Sunday. This year's new host is Jule Mayr. The young winemaker has been cultivating vineyards in the Kirbach Valley since 2016. She markets her wines through events and private sales. On Vaihinger Straße behind the New Apostolic Church, wines and homemade lemonade, barbecue treats and small cold delicacies will be on offer from 3 pm on Saturday and 11 am on Sunday. On Sunday, there will also be coffee specialties from the mobile coffee bar.
