During the district administrator's visit, Mayor Willing addressed current issues that are currently occupying the municipality of Eberdingen, which has a population of just under 7,000, and the associated municipalities of Hochdorf and Nussdorf. For example, Willing presented the citizens' project "Close to Nature in Eberdingen", which is the result of a joint initiative by the German Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment. The aim of the project is to enhance newly created green spaces, create habitats for plants and animals and promote biodiversity.
In addition, flood protection in the village and the planned flood retention basin were also discussed. The basin is complemented by various local measures in Riet and Eberdingen. Together, they protect the localities of Weissach, Eberdingen, Riet and Enzweihingen from damage up to a 50-year flood event.

"The municipality of Eberdingen with its three districts of Eberdingen, Hochdorf/Enz and Nussdorf will be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.
