District Administrator Allgaier was accompanied on his visit by Christos Vavouras, Head of the Social Affairs Department, Martin Schliereke, Head of the Asylum and Migration Department, and Francois Guilmin, Head of the Digitalization and IT Department. First, an exchange took place between the department heads and District Administrator Allgaier in the office of Kornwestheim Mayor Nico Lauxmann. The heads of the departments and staff units of the Kornwestheim city administration then presented their current projects. District Administrator Allgaier reflected on these projects from the perspective of the district. For example, the topics of digitalization and the shortage of skilled workers in the daycare sector were discussed together.
Outstanding cooperation is emphasized by both sides
Both sides emphasized the excellent cooperation between the district and the city - even on difficult topics such as refugee accommodation. The exchange also served to further deepen the cooperation and build a bridge to the working level. "The discussions were very constructive and trusting. As a large district town and the third most populous town in the district, Kornwestheim is well positioned for the challenges ahead. The Kornwestheim municipal administration has tackled key issues such as climate protection, digitalization and refugee accommodation with commitment. I am convinced that we will continue to work together in a spirit of trust and also find solutions together through short official channels," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.
Mayor Lauxmann added: "We are delighted that the District Administrator has also paid a visit to his home town of Kornwestheim, even though he knows it like the back of his hand. Dietmar Allgaier has an open ear for the municipalities in his district and therefore also for us, as this exchange proved once again. We will continue to work closely together in the future on many issues, such as the accommodation and integration of refugees or infrastructure issues relating to transport and civil engineering, and look forward to joint projects."
