Ludwigsburg district strengthens international partnerships

Ludwigsburg. The district of Ludwigsburg is also sending out a clear signal for international cooperation and understanding in 2026. In the Culture, Education and Europe Committee, the district councillors took a look back at the past year and were informed about the plans for 2026. The new program reaffirms the importance of encounters - especially for young people. These will continue to receive financial support. "Especially in times of global conflict, it is an important signal to actively live our partnerships, learn from each other and implement projects together," emphasized District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.

A diverse group of approximately 40 people stands together on stone steps, smiling at the camera. They are dressed in casual attire and appear to be participating in a gathering or event. Some greenery and planters are visible in the background.

Close exchange with partners in the Upper Galilee

The district administration is in close and continuous contact with its partner region in the Upper Galilee. The current situation is still characterized by the effects of the war: schools, kindergartens and universities are closed, many people spend a large part of their daily lives in shelters. At the same time, hopes for an early end to the escalation and a return to normality remain high.

Focus on German-Israeli teacher training seminar

In 2025, four of the five German-Israeli school partnerships were already able to hold meetings in Germany. As things stand, only one school exchange is planned for 2026: Helene-Lange-Gymnasium will continue its exchange with Eynot Yarden High School in Kibbutz Amir in October.

Against the backdrop of the tense situation in the Middle East, the educational exchange is becoming more of a focus. Following a five-day teacher seminar in June 2025, a further German-Israeli teacher seminar is planned for October 2026.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier also invited his counterpart, Chairman Asaf Langleben, to pay a return visit to the Ludwigsburg district during the delegation trip to the Upper Galilee last year.

Students and trainees travel to Bergamo - youth protection camp in Pest County

Cooperation is also being expanded in Europe: students from the School of Public Administration and Finance are traveling to Milan and the partner county of Bergamo, while trainees from the Erich Bracher School are completing internships in companies in the province of Bergamo. School meetings are again planned with the Hungarian county of Pest, as well as a youth nature conservation camp in the county in August.

Partners from Yichang are planning a visit this year

The partnership with the Chinese city of Yichang, which celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2025, will also be continued. A return visit from China is planned for 2026.

Late harvest market stands for lively exchange

Another highlight will be the Latecomers' Market in November, which international guests are expected to attend. In addition, the European Schools Competition and the Europe Quiz will be held under the motto "Your Europe: Rights, Respect - Reality?".

With its program, the district of Ludwigsburg underlines the importance of exchange, education and international relations - especially for the younger generation.
