Creative minds: Pupils report on school art exhibition

Very special works are currently on display in the art exhibition series at the Ludwigsburg District Office: Pupils from the district have taken part in the Baden-Württemberg school art program. At the exhibition, they show how they have artistically realized the theme of "series". Three pupils talk about the project.

Seeing her own pictures on the wall at an exhibition makes Angelin Rohankanai very proud. "I'm delighted to be able to present my art to people," says the pupil, who is currently in seventh grade at Ditzingen secondary school. Together with many pupils from the district, she took part in the Baden-Württemberg school art program.

In addition to Ditzingen secondary school, schools from Kornwestheim, Markgröningen, Steinheim, Remseck, Ludwigsburg, Tamm, Rutesheim, Bönnigheim, Ditzingen, Hohenhaslach, Vaihingen Enz and Asperg also took part in the program. The task was to create a "series" in the form of a sequence, repetition, variation or cycle. Interested parties can admire the results until June 26, 2024 in the district building at Hindenburgstraße 40, Ludwigsburg.

For the joy of art: seventh-graders exhibit at Kunst im Kreishaus

The children and young people were able to let off steam to their heart's content during the creative process. Not only paintings, but also handicrafts and sculptures were produced in the creative process. Luisa Hirsch, for example, created a figure out of cardboard. "It's extraordinary for me to be part of an exhibition," she says proudly. "After all, not everyone can do that."

Lena Geisler agrees. She took part in the program because she enjoys art. What particularly interested her about the "series" theme? "The way you do it and what develops from it," explains the seventh-grader. She also listened to her instincts when it came to realization. "I looked at an example and simply implemented it creatively in my own way," she explains.

Van Gogh, Picasso and da Vinci: pupils have great role models

All three students are big fans of Leonardo da Vinci, Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh. Great role models that the young artists have chosen.
But who knows: perhaps one day the works of Angelin, Luisa and Lena will be on display in galleries around the world alongside greats such as Picasso, van Gogh and da Vinci.
