Municipalities in the district receive broadband funding

The state of Baden-Württemberg has handed over funding decisions for broadband expansion to 15 municipalities in the Ludwigsburg district.

The image presents a list of municipalities in the Ludwigsburg district, detailing the grant amounts received by each community. The amounts range from €100,000 to €1,040,000 for various towns and municipalities.

With the sum of over 3.6 million euros, some of the last "white spots" in the district will disappear. Deputy Minister President and Digitalization Minister Thomas Strobl (CDU) was delighted about the "further step towards a nationwide gigabit-capable broadband infrastructure in the state". A total of 89 municipalities in the administrative districts of Stuttgart and Tübingen received funding notices amounting to over 70 million euros for broadband expansion. Of this, 3.62 million euros will flow into the district of Ludwigsburg.
District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier states: "We are delighted that the state of Baden-Württemberg is continuing to pursue the broadband issue with great commitment in the new government. For the district of Ludwigsburg, this means that we will be able to gradually close the white spots over the next few years."
Viktor Kostic, Managing Director of Zweckverband Kreisbreitband Ludwigsburg, adds: "We have already launched a tender with the funding decisions received in the previous rounds of handovers. We assume that we will be able to significantly improve the supply of schools, businesses and private households with high-speed Internet in ten municipalities over the course of the next year."
Info:
Funding is available for areas that are still underserved with a bandwidth of less than 30 megabits per second (Mbit/s). The fiber optic expansion is subsidized 50 percent by the federal government and 40 percent by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
